Hardwood

Hardwood is available in one-half inch solid or three-quarter inch solid, and engineered. Engineered hardwood has a hardwood veneer over a substrate of plywood or other material.

Customers often use “hardwood” to describe several kinds of hard-surface flooring. True hardwood products include solid wood and engineered hardwood, and those constructions are not the same as laminate or luxury vinyl plank.

Wood naturally varies in grain, color, knots, mineral marks, and response to light and environment. A small sample cannot represent every installed board. The product grade and manufacturer descriptions should be reviewed so normal variation is not mistaken for a defect.
